These professional-grade sintered carving burs are suitable for shaping and carving a wide range of minerals. They are available in different shapes, sizes and grits so you can choose the best burs for your project.
- Sintering produces a uniform matrix of diamond crystals embedded in a strong, durable binder
- Sintered burs will last 5 to 10 times longer than diamond plated burs
- Sintered burs will last up to 100 times longer than various types of silicon carbide or aluminum oxide mounted abrasive points
The Achilles heel of Inland burrs are the shanks. The burrs can not be utilized to their full potential as the shanks are only 3/32 of an inch. Fully 30% of all burr shanks fail prematurely due to the shanks inability to withstand the pressure necessary for the burr to adequately abrade material. The shanks must be 1/8 of an inch to reduce the fail rate to acceptable levels. A company in California named TAROLOID used these size shanks in a very successful product that was produced up until 2009. I highly recommend Inland look into this as a much needed modification.
